  • SITT OPERA is honoured to present Tenor; Thabo Sithole in a concert at the Roodepoort Theatre on Sunday, 22 October 2025, at 3:00 PM.

Having already performed twice on the SITT OPERA stage, Thabo has earned our admiration as a reliable, hardworking, and aspiring talent.  His voice may not aim to dazzle instantly, but it is one of calm strength, musical discipline, and sincere expression. He is a voice that grows on you, and a presence that demands attention through artistry, not volume.

This performance forms part of our Fine Talents and Rising Stars concert series, created to showcase promising singers not yet in the limelight. We are especially thrilled to support South African artists like Thabo on their path to recognition.

“Through my life, I have learned that everything comes through hard work and determination. My involvement in musical activities and becoming a class representative at the Tshwane University Of Technology has aided my development into becoming a team player and a leader—as others can learn from me as much as I can learn from them. I am energetic and I have a natural zest and determination to succeed. My eagerness and willingness to learn have encouraged me to be a better person in life”— Thabo Sithole.

Currently a music teacher in Mafikeng, Thabo Sithole returns to the stage with a bold and imaginative programme titled “A Tenor’s Journey Through Time and Space”.

The program travels across continents and centuries; starting in ancient China with Puccini’s Turandot, through the grandeur of Paris, Mantua, and Rome (on the historic date of 16 June 1800), then on to romantic Germany, exotic Ceylon, pharaonic Egypt, medieval Spain, England, St. Petersburg, and Scotland—before finally returning to China in 1912.

This is a journey of love, loss, war, peace, and passion, as told through opera’s most moving arias and characters; a deeply personal musical voyage from a tenor ready to be noticed.
